Obdulia holds a PhD degree in Sociology from the Complutense University of Madrid. She wrote her doctoral thesis about the Spanish unionism during the Spanish transition. Her academic specialization is directed to the globalization phenomenon and to the social changes linked to it. She is an expert in labour, trade union and human resources matters.

An observer of the global evolution and changes of the labour market, she pays particular attention to female work.

She has been a Sociology Senior Lecturer at the University of A Coruña since 1993. During the last seven years she has been in politics, holding the position of Vice-Representative of the Central Government in A Coruña (2004-2007) and Councillor in the Council of A Coruña (2007-2011.) In 2011 she returned to the University where, as well as teaching at the Faculty of Business Administration and Management, she was the coordinator of UDC’s Official Master’s Degree in International Migration in the academic year 2011-2012.

Ha publicado distintos artículos en revistas nacionales y extranjeras y capítulos de libros sobre diversos temas relacionados con su especialización actividad académica: sindicalismo y relaciones laborales, mercado de trabajo, aspectos sociales de la globalización. Asimismo, ha participado en más de una veintena de investigaciones de financiación pública y privada, referidas al estudio sociológico de la sociedad española.
