Álvaro Calvo Rodríguez is a predoctoral researcher hired by the Universidade da Coruña under the 2021 Research Staff Training programme.

Álvaro completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology at UDC in 2015 and a Master’s Degree in Applied Sociology: Social and Market Research in 2017, when he was awarded the Master’s Degree Extraordinary Award. He has been a research intern at the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (2018) and the Instituto Nacional de la Administración Pública (2019-2020). In 2021, he was hired as a research support technician on the ‘Gender Disparities in the Public Sphere’ project as part of the InTalent UDC- Inditex Programme.

He is currently working on his PhD thesis, which analyses the gender gap in support for far-right parties in Europe, with supervision from Mónica Ferrín Pereira.
