The Official Master’s Degree in Social Policies and Socio-community Intervention (MOPS) focuses on social policies, social exclusion and socio community intervention. The course tries to respond to the emerging need of professional qualifications in these topics as well as the need of scholars and scientists to update their knowledge to intervene in the emerging social problems of today. The Masters targets a large group of postgraduate students mainly from Sociology, Political Science, Social Education and Social Work. It has also proven interesting for degree holders from other disciplines, mainly in the field of the Social and Legal Sciences. The MOPS lasts two academic years. The first year focuses on specialised training around social policies, exclusion processes and sociocommunity interventions, combining both theoretical, practical and methodological subjects. Students are expected to choose their specialisation during the second year: Migration, Gender or Aging and Family Transformations. An internship and a Master’s Thesis are necessary to obtain the Master’s Degree.
