David Cabaleiro Durán has been an FPU predoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Sociology at the Universidade da Coruña since late 2022. He graduated in Sociology from UDC in 2018 before completing a Master’s Degree in Political Marketing, Consultancy and Communication at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. His master’s dissertation, ‘Análisis del discurso de El País y el Mundo sobre Vox’ [An analysis of the discourse on Vox in El País and El Mundo], was published in volume 3 of the Espejo Social journal. Since 2020, he has coordinated the Spanish committee of the Asociación Iberoamericana de Sociología and he is currently working on his PhD thesis with supervision from Matilde Massó Lago.

David’s research explores the factors that influence decision-making on the use of money in sports betting and equity investments.

He has also worked as a warehouse operator at El Corte Inglés and as a technical support and customer service advisor for technological products at Webhelp.
