Objectives:

“The overall objective of the INCASI2 project is to establish a global cross-sectoral network of experts working on a joint research program aimed at building a new analytical model of socioeconomic inequalities in order to:

  1. To produce effective advances in the understanding of the complex phenomena of socioeconomic inequalities by creating a new analytical framework at a comparative and interdisciplinary level in a context of societies in “permanent crisis”.
  2. To construct an innovative multidimensional measure (DYSIC: Dynamics of Comparative Socioeconomic Inequality) adapted to the new realities configured in this context, which is global, more comprehensive and realistic in the comparative analysis of inequalities between Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean, and for monitoring the situation and evolution of We consider 3 variants of DYSIC 1) including 3 main dimensions as a base (education, occupation and income), 2) adding the gender dimension and 3) adding dynamic trends.
  3. Create the INCASI Living Lab to develop diagnostics, contribute to informed decision making and the design of public policies. It is designed to improve the innovation process by adopting three fundamental principles: fostering an open and collaborative innovation strategy, using a methodology focused on promoting people’s quality of life, and creating an environment for interdisciplinary thinking and action that allows the participation of diverse socioeconomic, political and scientific

These objectives will be achieved with the collaboration of an interdisciplinary, intersectoral and international network for the Comparative Analysis of Socioeconomic Inequalities (INCASI) with 29 organizations: 14 EU universities from 6 countries, 11 universities and 4 non-academic organizations from 7 LAC countries and USA, to address one of the most relevant problems of our societies: socioeconomic inequalities, and to promote European values of social justice.”
