Sandra López Pereiro

FPU Predoctoral Researcher

Sandra López Pereiro is a predoctoral researcher at the Universidade da Coruña as part of the University Teacher Training Programme run by the Spanish Ministry of Universities.

Sandra trained at the Faculty of Sociology at UDC and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 2016, before completing a Master’s Degree in Applied Sociology: Social and Market Research in 2018. She received the university’s Extraordinary Award for both degrees. She has been an intern at the Centro de Estudos de Xénero e Feministas (2014-2015) and the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (2018) and has worked for several social consultancies in Galicia, participating in research projects and the production of official statistics.

Sandra has worked in areas such as gender, care, rural environments, surveys and methodology. She currently specialises in intra-European migration and is working on her PhD thesis in this area, which analyses recent emigration from Spain in terms of welfare, with supervision from Antía Pérez Caramés. As part of her PhD research, she has been a visiting researcher at the Malmö Institute for Studies of Migration and the Unité de Recherche Migrations et Société at the Université Paris Cité.
