Sara Fernández Muñoz

Project Officer

Sara Fernández Muñoz graduated in Sociology from the Universidade da Coruña (UDC), where she won the Ánxeles Alvariño Award for her academic work with a gender perspective. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Communication for Social Purposes: Strategies and Campaigns from the Universidad de Valladolid (UVA). During her time at UVA, she completed an internship at the Equality Unit, where she worked with the I+D+i INTERNÉTICA project to research harassment in the university environment. Her master’s dissertation was also linked to this research project.

Sara also has experience as a public policy consultant on equality issues. She has delivered several talks as part of her research into the ethical implications and gender biases present on dating apps, as well as working on a social marketing campaign. Her research explores young people’s communication, interpersonal interaction and political and social engagement on social media from a multidisciplinary gender perspective.

Sara is currently working for the Universidade da Coruña as a research support technician on the project ‘SENSGENPOL – Analysis of the Impact of Gender Awareness-Raising in Politics’.
